The MEDFORVAL network funds the implementation by the sites of field actions and small projects in the following domains:
- Biodiversity conservation and management in HEVF
- Awareness raising, education, and dissemination of HEVF values
- Capacity building and institutional development in HEVF sites
A first call for small projects was launched at the end of 2015, and four grants were awarded out of the eight submissions received, with a view to implement concrete actions in the field. These four projects are:

At the dawn of 2017, the Caracal was not found, but campaigns of awareness and education were carried out.
Today, collection is underway and a botanist is doing surveys in the field, while a forest monitoring team has been set up to limit degradation.

- Reinforcement of HEV forest knowledge (Spain) with a Mediterranean version of the model tree called "Hector, l'arbre mort".
The model and the adaptation of the content are on track.

The end of Conservacosu project is scheduled for October 31st, 2017.
